Following one of the wettest springs "since records began" the Y10 Geography students set off to complete their geography coursework fieldwork in Minehead and the surrounding region. Nettlecombe had not experienced weather like it and the downpour was so severe that the access road to the site was washed away.
Following a bright and sunny afternoon assessing the need for, type and success of coastal management along the Minehead seafront students headed to the field centre.
Day two was wet, both intentionally and not as students completed a river study along the upper course of the River Holford. the spring had sprung and water bubbled from the ground, paths became tributaries and the students displayed great enthusiasm in their recording of data.
Day three and the weather was grey but dry as the students assessed the sustainability of the flood defences along the River tone at Taunton.
Now all that is left is to complete that all important coursework report ....... go for it boys ...... deadline June 29th !
